We have a busy few months coming with lots of fun and exciting events in the near future! Our annual Thanksgiving dinner for all the Hilltop families will be on Friday, November 22nd, starting at 5:30 pm. We will provide the turkey and we ask every family that attends to bring a side dish or dessert to add to our feast. Bring the whole family, it’s
going to be a great time!
During the winter months we have Pajama Fridays here at Hilltop so we can all stay warm and cozy! Our first Pajama Friday will be November 29th and we are kicking it off with a fun day and for a great cause. On that Friday we are going to ask that each child who wears their PJ’s to school
to bring in a donation of $1 or more to participate in “PJ Day for the Kids”,
a program that raises money to support pediatric patients at Conn. Children’s Medical Center who are
fighting cancer and blood disorders. Each December, people across Connecticut stand together in support of the kids at CCMC who wear PJs for days, weeks or longer while fighting cancer and other serious illnesses.
Once again, Hilltop will be participating in Operation Christmas Child, where you will have the chance to bring joy to a child in need during this upcoming holiday season. “Samaritan’s Purse” has brought the joy of Christmas and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in over 140 nations as they distribute more than 113 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need. It is so simple…First you will need an empty shoebox and decide if you would like your gift to go to a girl or boy and pick their age category. Next, fill the shoebox with toys, school supplies and hygiene items. Then bring the filled shoebox back to Hilltop and we will pay the $9
down on your calendar. Our annual Cookie Walk (craft & bake sale) will be on Saturday, December 7th. Hilltop’s Christmas play will be Friday, December 13th at 6:30 PM. Our free babysitting night will be on Friday, December 20th. More information will be available on all these events as they get closer.
Just a reminder that all children, 6-59 months, attending a daycare center are required to receive at least one dose of the influenza vaccination now through December 31st. If this is their first season being vaccinated
against influenza then they shall receive 2 doses of vaccine. It is a requirement by the Connecticut Department of Early Childhood Education that children who have not received the flu vaccine by December 31st must be excluded from child care for the duration of influenza season (through March 31st). There are exceptions if your child has a medical
contraindication or for religious beliefs. Please see the information sheet that was placed in your child’s cubby for details on the exceptions. Once your child has had their flu vaccine, please bring in either their updated
immunization record or the slip the doctor or nurse gave you indicating the date your child received the vaccine.
In the event of a severe winter storm, we will announce a closing or an opening delay on NBC CONNECTICUT’S Storm Alert. They no longer list childcare center closings on the television. You may view this at www.nbcconnecticut.com. Click of Weather, then School Closings. We will be listed as HILLTOP DAYCARE, CROMWELL. Please note, there is a similarly named school in Torrington named Hilltop Christian Nursery School. The best way to get any alerts will be to subscribe to an automatic email or text
message that will be sent to you in the event of a closing or delay. The link can be found by clicking Weather, and then Storm Closing Alerts, on their website.
Just a reminder that Hilltop will be closed on November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving.
