Pastor's Bio
Pastor Scott came to Hilltop as Senior Pastor in January, 2010. He and his family moved to Cromwell from Chicago, IL, where Pastor Scott received his Master of Divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary and served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church, Oak Lawn, IL.
Prior to entering full-time ministry Pastor Scott spent fifteen years in contract food service management. He began working in food service while he was in college at the University of California, Santa Cruz and remained with the same company for the duration of his career. Scott and his wife, Robin, are originally from California. During their 18 years of marriage they have lived in a number of places in Northern California, Elk Grove, Santa Rosa and Aptos. It was while he was the General Manager for Campus Dining at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) that Pastor Scott sensed God’s call to vocational ministry. The family then moved from Las Vegas to Chicago, so Pastor Scott could attend seminary.
Pastor Scott entered full-time pastoral ministry with a unique set of experiences and gifts. As a lay person he was always active in the churches he and his family have attended, serving in ministry and leadership positions such as Church Chair, Vice Chair, Pastoral Search Committee Chair, Connections Team Leader, and Small Group/Cell/Life Line Bible Study Leader, to name a few. While in his management experience, Pastor Scott had the privilege of work with large staffs of talented individuals, multi-million dollar budgets and a variety of building projects and program implementations.
Pastor Scott and his wife, Robin, met while they were still in high school. Although they weren’t technically high school sweethearts, because they attended different high schools and they met three weeks before Pastor Scott’s graduation. They have two school-aged children.
